The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of HSE, the WHS Advisor will be responsible for delivering health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across several operational sites. Acting as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, you will provide practical safety guidance, coaching and support while helping maintain a strong culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
Key result areas include incident management, injury management and return to work coordination, facilitating safety training and awareness programs, conducting risk assessments and audits, maintaining WHS systems and documentation, and ensuring compliance with legislative obligations and organisational standards. The role will also contribute to harmonising safety practices across multiple businesses and supporting a broader health and wellbeing agenda.
Critical to the position is the ability to build strong working relationships with operational leaders and employees, influence positive safety behaviours and provide practical solutions that improve workplace health and safety outcomes. This role offers significant variety and the opportunity to make a visible impact across multiple sites and business functions.
About You
We are seeking an engaging and proactive safety professional with the following skills and attributes:
- Experience within manufacturing, warehousing, construction or a similar operational environment
- Qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (Cert IV WHS or higher) or currently working towards formal qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a health and safety focused role
- Strong understanding of risk management, incident investigation and injury management processes
- Experience facilitating training, presentations or educational sessions
- Proven ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organised with excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office capability
