The Company

This ASX-listed gold development company is advancing a significant international mining project within the Asia-Pacific region. Supported by a substantial resource base, completed feasibility work and strong development momentum, the organisation is preparing for the next phase of project execution as it progresses toward Final Investment Decision and eventual operations.
Operating in a unique international environment, the project offers the opportunity to work alongside a diverse range of stakeholders, contractors, communities and technical specialists while contributing to the development of one of the region’s most exciting emerging gold assets.

The Opportunity

An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced Technical Services Manager to establish and lead the Technical Services function for a major international gold development project.
Reporting to the site leadership team, you will provide technical leadership across geology, mine planning, geotechnical engineering and production optimisation, ensuring these disciplines work cohesively to support the successful transition from project development into mining operations.
This role offers far more than traditional technical oversight. You will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of a large-scale mining project in a remote international setting, helping to build the systems, processes and technical capability required to support safe, efficient and sustainable operations. The position will suit an individual who enjoys working in dynamic environments where technical excellence, cultural awareness and practical problem-solving are equally important.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Technical Services function across geology, mine planning and geotechnical disciplines\
  • Establish integrated planning processes linking geology, mining and processing activities
  • Oversee grade control, reconciliation and resource-to-reserve conversion strategies
  • Support operational readiness and mine start-up activities ahead of first production
  • Develop technical systems, reporting frameworks, KPIs and governance processes
  • Work closely with operations, project delivery teams, contractors and consultants to optimise outcomes
  • Contribute to budgeting, technical studies, organisational planning and contractor integration activities
  • Identify technical risks and opportunities, implementing initiatives that enhance project value and operational performance
  • Mentor and develop technical personnel while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture
About You

You are a technically accomplished mining professional with experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams within open pit mining operations or development projects. You possess a strong understanding of mine planning, geology, grade control, reconciliation and geotechnical considerations, together with the ability to translate technical information into practical operational outcomes.
Exposure to international mining operations, remote site environments or projects transitioning from development into production will be highly regarded. You understand the challenges and opportunities that come with operating in diverse cultural and stakeholder environments and are comfortable working across multiple disciplines to achieve project objectives.

You will demonstrate:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geology or a related discipline
  • Experience leading technical services teams within mining operations or development projects
  • Strong technical capability across mine planning, geology and operational support functions
  • The ability to work effectively within international, multicultural and remote operating environments
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to safety and operational excellence
Why This Role?
This is a rare opportunity to join a growing international gold developer at a pivotal stage in its journey toward becoming a producer.
Working within a unique island-based project environment, you will have the opportunity to influence the technical foundations of a future mining operation, work alongside experienced international mining professionals, and contribute to a project that will have a lasting impact on the region. The successful candidate will enjoy significant scope to shape systems, build capability and leave a genuine legacy as the operation moves from development into production.
