Operating a complex asset portfolio, the organisation is recognised for its strong safety culture, commitment to continuous improvement and long-term investment in engineering excellence.

With a focus on operational reliability, innovation and sustainable asset stewardship, the business provides an environment where engineers can make a genuine impact while working alongside experienced technical professionals.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Structural Engineer, this role is responsible for managing the condition, performance and integrity of structural and civil assets across a large industrial operation. The position combines technical engineering, asset integrity, project delivery and stakeholder management, ensuring critical infrastructure remains safe, reliable and fit for purpose.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assessing structural asset condition and undertaking engineering investigations
  • Completing structural calculations, technical reports and engineering assessments
  • Developing, prioritising and coordinating repair and modification programs
  • Supporting plant inspections, risk assessments and asset integrity management activities
  • Providing technical advice to maintenance, operational and project teams
  • Managing consultants, contractors and specialist engineering suppliers
  • Contributing to shutdown planning, failure investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assisting with project budgeting, forecasting and cost management activities.
This position offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of challenging structural assets, supporting both day-to-day operational requirements and longer-term capital improvement programs.

About You

We are seeking an engineer with strong technical capability, excellent problem-solving skills and a genuine commitment to safety and asset reliability.
To be successful, you will ideally possess:
  • Degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Experience within structural engineering, asset integrity or heavy industrial environments
  • Strong analytical, investigation and technical reporting skills
  • Experience undertaking structural assessments, calculations and engineering reviews
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • The ability to coordinate contractors, consultants and technical specialists
  • Strong planning, organisation and project management capabilities
  • Commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement
  • A proactive attitude and desire for ongoing professional development
Experience within bulk materials handling, mining, ports, marine infrastructure, manufacturing or other heavy industrial sectors will be highly regarded. Exposure to large dynamic machinery, asset management systems and project delivery environments would also be advantageous.

Why This Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected industrial organisation where engineering expertise is valued and where you can play a key role in maintaining and improving critical infrastructure.

You will enjoy exposure to major structural assets, complex engineering challenges and long-term asset improvement initiatives, while working within a collaborative, safety-focused team environment that encourages professional growth and development.
