The Opportunity
This role offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team tasked with evaluating key projects which support the State’s long-term economic development.

WATC proudly supports flexible working practices and, as such, will consider full / part time working arrangements for the right person.

Working in an evolving environment this role will liaise with clients across State agencies to facilitate the development of effective solutions tailored to address clients’ financial requirements.

Key activities:
 
  • Developing and maintaining complex integrated financial models;
  • Conducting robust and considered financial evaluations and value to State assessments;
  • Undertaking research and analysis of drivers underpinning capital investment decisions, alternative financing structures, divestment decisions, financial valuations and procurement decisions;
  • Providing specialist investment appraisal advice and recommendations on investment prioritisation including strategic merit, maturity, benefit and cost of infrastructure;
  • Assisting with capital intensive procurement assessments and financial evaluation of PPP’s;
  • Synthesising analysis and recommendations into cohesive reports to provide to clients; and
  • Supporting the preparation of proposal papers, presentations, and government submissions resulting from our financial analysis.
 

You will also provide support to Principal Advisors in compiling and analysing financial information and will contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and methodologies, training delivery and advocacy.

  • A tertiary qualification in finance, or a relevant discipline;
  • Experience in a consulting / advisory services environment;
  • Strong financial modelling skills;

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills within a client relationship and team context (with willingness to support the development of others);
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity; and
  • A flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude to work.
