The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Sales and Business Development Manager will take responsibility for driving growth across new and existing markets. This pivotal role will lead the charge in sourcing new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and increasing customer share of wallet across the battery business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Proactively generating and converting pipeline opportunities.
- Achieving sales and profit targets across the portfolio.
- Developing and executing marketing strategies in partnership with the MD and technical specialists.
- Enhancing customer awareness of the organisation’s capabilities and solutions.
- Leading tender submissions, proposals, and quotations with technical teams.
- Analysing competitor activity and identifying new market opportunities.
- Networking extensively across consultants, contractors, and owner-miners to expand the client base.
Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates will bring:
- At least 10 years’ experience in direct B2B sales in industrial wholesale within the electrical or battery services sector.
- Strong battery sales and business development expertise, ideally with exposure to solid-state sodium chloride batteries.
- Proven ability to build and maintain profitable client relationships.
- Commercial acumen with sound financial knowledge.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and proposal development skills.
- A track record of successful cold calling, pipeline management, and sales conversion.
- Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering, sales, business, or marketing (or equivalent).
- A self-driven, action-oriented style with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital marketing channels.
