As a Recruitment Consultant at Beilby Downing Teal, you will support the General Manager and Principal Consultants by managing assignments– including candidate sourcing and market mapping to writing reports and coordinating interviews. This is a 180-degree role focused on delivery, candidate management, and supporting long-standing client relationships. You’ll help deliver high-quality recruitment outcomes for some of Western Australia’s most prominent government authorities.
Your work will include research, talent pooling, writing adverts, reference checking, coordination of digital interviews and psychometric testing, and ensuring accuracy and compliance in the organisation’s CRM. You’ll liaise closely with selection panels and hiring managers, contributing to the success of assignments for varying levels of seniority.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support executive search assignments within the local and state government contexts by preparing longlists, shortlists, reports, and advertising content
- Undertake targeted research, market mapping, and database mining to identify suitable talent
- Liaise with local and state government stakeholders and support selection panel coordination
- Manage assignment documentation in accordance with relevant legislation and ensure compliance across all recruitment activity
- Build and maintain talent pools and pipelines of public sector professionals
- Ensure CRM records are accurate and current
- Monitor assignment progress, providing regular updates to consultants and clients
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, or candidate care
This role focuses on recruitment within the state and local government sectors, therefore we are seeking someone with experience in recruitment within one or both of these fields. You’ll bring a strong understanding of the complexities of local and state government recruitment, including panel-based processes and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, a methodical and proactive approach, and experience using digital platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, SEEK, and Boolean search tools. A team-oriented mindset, strong organisational skills, sound judgment, and high attention to detail are essential.
