The Company

An international development group is establishing its presence in Western Australia, commencing with a landmark purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) project in Perth. With an initial investment of approximately $160 million and capacity for around 600 beds, this project represents the foundation of a broader development pipeline in the State.
The organisation is long-term focused, capital-backed, and committed to delivering high-quality, operationally successful assets. As the inaugural project in Western Australia, this development will set the benchmark for future projects, governance standards, and delivery frameworks.

The Opportunity

The Senior Project Manager will take full end-to-end responsibility for delivering the company’s first WA development from early works through to practical completion and handover.
Acting as the client’s representative, you will have full accountability across programme, cost, quality, safety and risk. Beyond delivering the project, you will play a critical role in establishing robust project governance frameworks, contractor relationships, and best-practice processes to support future developments across Western Australia.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the planning, execution and delivery of a $160m+ multi-storey PBSA development
  • Acting as the principal client-side interface with head contractors, consultants and specialist advisors
  • Establishing standardised project and contract management processes aligned to best practice
  • Managing budgets, cash flow forecasting and cost reporting
  • Leading procurement strategies across consultants, early works and construction packages
  • Overseeing programme development, monitoring and recovery strategies
  • Ensuring design coordination aligns with statutory approvals and operational outcomes
  • Establishing governance, reporting and risk management frameworks
  • Managing key stakeholders including authorities, operators, investors and internal executives
  • Identifying delivery risks, value engineering opportunities and cost pressures
  • Ensuring compliance with WHS, quality and environmental standards
  • Supporting post-completion reviews and embedding lessons learned for future projects
This is a highly autonomous, senior-level appointment with full accountability for successful delivery.

About You

You are an experienced client-side or senior delivery professional with a proven track record delivering large-scale building projects in Western Australia, typically in excess of $100 million.
You will bring:
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex, multi-storey developments such as PBSA, BTR, residential, hotel, healthcare or mixed-use projects
  • A background in client-side project management, development management, or senior roles within Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors
  • Strong commercial and contractual management capability
  • Deep understanding of WA construction market conditions, consultants, subcontractors and statutory processes
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and engage confidently with senior local and international stakeholders
  • A proactive and visible commitment to Health & Safety leadership
  • The ability to operate with high levels of autonomy, accountability and strategic oversight
You will hold a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline and have delivered projects through the full lifecycle within Western Australia.

Why This Role?

This is a rare opportunity to lead a landmark development that will define a new entrant’s presence in the Western Australian market.
You will not only deliver a significant $160 million project, but also shape the governance, systems and delivery frameworks that underpin a future pipeline of developments. The role offers genuine influence, visibility with senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to build something enduring from the ground up.
For an experienced Senior Project Manager seeking both project accountability and strategic impact, this represents a career-defining opportunity in Perth’s evolving development landscape.
