The Opportunity
An opportunity exists for an experienced Project Director to take responsibility for the day-to-day execution of a major gold development project in a complex international environment.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will act as the central integrator across all project functions, ensuring alignment between engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities. This is a highly visible leadership role with accountability for delivering the project safely, on schedule and within budget as it progresses from late-stage studies into construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project execution from the recent DFS completion through construction and commissioning
- Integrate engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning into a single delivery plan
- Drive schedule, cost and performance outcomes in line with approved targets
- Manage EPCM/EPC contractors, major work packages and key interfaces
- Oversee contractor performance, productivity and compliance
- Support commercial strategies, including claims, variations and risk management
- Provide leadership across site teams in a remote and challenging environment
- Ensure strong HSE, quality and operational standards across all activities
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement across internal, regulatory and community interfaces
- Build and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary project team
About You
You are an experienced project execution leader with a strong track record delivering large-scale mining or infrastructure projects through construction and commissioning. You bring a disciplined approach to delivery, combined with the ability to manage complex interfaces across contractors, stakeholders and internal teams.
You will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in project execution within EPCM/EPC delivery models
- Strong understanding of project controls, cost management and scheduling
- Experience operating in remote or international environments
- Ability to manage contractors, interfaces and multidisciplinary teams
- Commercial acumen, including exposure to contracts, claims and variations
- Strong leadership capability and ability to drive performance in challenging environments
