The Role
The Pre-Contracts Manager will be responsible for identifying, tracking, and converting project opportunities through strategic positioning and submission management. The role combines business development, bid coordination and content development. Specifically, some of the key duties and responsibilities are;
- Monitor government and contractor procurement portals and market intel channels
- Develop EOIs, capability statements, and tender submissions in collaboration with technical leads
- Manage the CRM and pipeline tools, ensuring accurate data and active pursuit strategies
- Maintain a schedule of major frameworks, programs, and recurring tender opportunities
- Support Directors in client engagement activity and positioning strategy
- Write clear, compelling, and technically accurate content for proposals
- Coordinate bid teams and deadlines for major submissions
- Track outcomes and continuously improve win strategies and material
The Person
You will hold full responsibility for this function in the business so we require a person with experience, who can drive this part of the business. In summary, we require a solid background in bids, business development, marketing or pre-contracts roles in consulting, engineering or construction. Some of the other qualities we would love to see are;
- Familiarity with government tendering systems (e.g. Qtenders, eTendering NSW, Buying for Victoria)
- Experience using CRM platforms and managing pipelines
- High attention to detail and proven ability to deliver under deadline pressure
- Possesses a strategic mindset with the ability to envision, plan, and execute initiatives that align with our clients’ long-term goals.
- A team player with the ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
- Strong communicator able to translate technical ideas into clear, client-focused content
- Organised and deadline driven
- Collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment
- Keen interest in infrastructure, engineering and the built environment
