About the Role
Reporting to the Managing Director we are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee and implement effective maintenance strategies across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Maintenance and Stores teams, coordinating repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role is critical to minimizing downtime and optimizing production efficiency through proactive maintenance planning and resource management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits as necessary to support operational needs
- Oversee and implement maintenance strategies and work plans across the business.
- Manage the Maintenance and Stores teams to coordinate repairs, preventative maintenance, and necessary upgrades.
- Develop and maintain an asset management system to track major components, forecast maintenance needs, and manage budgets.
- Ensure cost-effective use of resources and monitor expenses.
- Coordinate and plan cost-effective asset management, including servicing and repairs.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors for supplies, parts, and services.
- Support and manage rail ultrasonic, laser, video, and geometry systems.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Supervisor or Superintendent role, with a background in track machine maintenance being highly desirable. Electrical or mechanical trade qualifications would be a strong asset while possessing excellent communication skills and demonstrating solid project management experience. Additionally, the candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, who will be adept at anticipating and addressing issues before they impact operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows across maintenance activities.
