The Opportunity
A career-defining opportunity exists for an experienced General Manager – Project Delivery to lead the end-to-end execution of a major gold development project in an international setting.
Working closely with the Managing Director, you will act as the single point of accountability for project delivery, overseeing the transition from the recent DFS through FID and into construction and commissioning. This role will shape the execution strategy, build and lead the owner’s team, and ensure disciplined, well-governed delivery across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project delivery from DFS through FID into construction and commissioning
- Establish and implement the overall execution strategy (EPCM/EPC/owner-led)
- Provide leadership across engineering, construction, procurement and project controls
- Ensure alignment across technical, commercial and operational workstreams
- Drive governance, reporting and stage-gate approval processes
- Maintain accountability for cost, schedule, risk and overall project performance
- Lead contracting, procurement and commercial negotiations
- Support project financing, lender engagement and capital management
- Manage key stakeholders including Board, investors, government and local communities
- Build and lead a high-performing owner’s team to support execution
About You
You are an experienced project delivery executive with a proven track record of leading large-scale mining or infrastructure developments through to construction and commissioning. You bring strong commercial acumen, leadership capability and the ability to operate in complex, international environments.
You will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience delivering major capital projects, ideally in gold or similar commodities
- Proven capability taking projects through FID into execution
- Strong understanding of project controls, governance and commercial frameworks
- Experience managing EPCM/EPC contractors and large multidisciplinary teams
- Exposure to project financing and capital allocation decisions
- Ability to operate effectively across Board, investor and stakeholder environments
- Experience in remote or international jurisdictions highly regarded
