The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Finance Manager to join a leading business in the Australian construction and engineering equipment industry. This role is pivotal in overseeing the financial function of the organisation, providing strategic insights, and partnering closely with the Managing Director to support business growth and improvement.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial reporting, compliance, cashflow, working capital, and performance analysis. The role will play a hands-on part in driving process improvements, identifying opportunities for value creation, and ensuring strong financial governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the revision, analysis, and reporting of company performance, including monthly reporting.
- Preparing management reports and delivering insights at monthly updates and performance meetings.
- Interpreting financial data and providing clear commercial commentary for decision-making.
- Managing cashflow, working capital, and payroll functions.
- Overseeing budgets, forecasts, fixed assets, and expenditure reporting.
- Driving process improvements to streamline reporting and enhance efficiency.
- Coordinating financial statements and tax compliance.
- Building strong relationships across the business as a trusted financial partner.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in business, finance, accounting or equivalent CA / CPA preferred.
- Proven experience managing a finance team.
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret and communicate financial information clearly.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and working knowledge of financial systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management skills.
- A professional, confident, and adaptable approach with strong leadership qualities.
