The Opportunity
Reporting to the Engineering and Service Manager, the Field Service Engineer will be responsible for delivering comprehensive after‑sales technical support to customers throughout the full lifecycle of their equipment. This includes installation and commissioning, planned maintenance, unplanned breakdown support, and the programming and optimisation of sorting systems.
After‑sales support may be provided either on site or remotely, including phone-based assistance and remote maintenance access to customer equipment, depending on the situation.
About You
We are seeking an experienced technician who enjoys commissioning new equipment, providing on‑site servicing, delivering technical support, and building strong customer relationships.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in the following areas:
- Strong electrical expertise, particularly in electrical control systems. A technical degree or diploma in an electrical discipline is highly regarded.
- Proven fault‑finding and diagnostic skills, with hands‑on experience responding to and resolving breakdown situations.
- Solid mechanical knowledge, with the ability to work confidently across electrical and mechanical systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly, sometimes at short notice, including international travel to Germany, the USA, New Zealand, and South East Asia.
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours on occasion, including weekends, as operational requirements demand with overtime rates provided.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues to internal teams and customers alike, ensuring expectations are effectively manage
