THE ROLE
Reporting to the CEO, the Director Place and Community provides strategic leadership for how the Shire plans, shapes and activates places and supports communities.
The role is accountable for aligning planning, regulation and community services to deliver integrated, place-based outcomes that improve the lived experience of residents and visitors.
The Director leads the definition of place intent, community needs and service outcomes, working in partnership with Built and Natural Environment, which is responsible for delivering built assets and infrastructure. The role remains closely involved through project governance to ensure facilities are fit for purpose and ready for successful activation.
As a key member of the Executive Team, the Director works with Council, builds strong external relationships and continues the transformation of the Directorate, driving efficient, customer-focused and community-centred services.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will be a strategic and community-focused leader, experienced in planning, place, community or a related field, with the ability to bring together multiple functions to deliver practical, integrated outcomes.
You will be a strong communicator and collaborative leader, comfortable providing advice to Council and working across organisational and stakeholder boundaries to influence outcomes.
Experience operating in complex environments and balancing community expectations, regulatory responsibilities and service performance will be important.
A track record in leading change, improving services or delivering initiatives that have a positive impact on communities will be highly regarded.
THE PACKAGE
The Total Reward Package for this position is up to $280,000, comprised of a base salary of up to $231,000 plus superannuation plus vehicle allowance.
