THE CITY
  
The City of Nedlands is a Band 2 Local Government with a vibrant, diverse and engaged community. Situated just 7km from Perth and with a population of over 22,000, the City stretches from the banks of the beautiful Swan River to the edge of the Indian Ocean. The City is at a crucial juncture with a newly appointed Elected Member group in addition to a newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, looking to fill the role of Director, City Performance and Community Development, to assist in positioning the organisation for long-term success.
  
THE ROLE
  
Reporting to the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, the Director, City Performance and Community Development will be a pivotal member of the Executive Leadership Team. You will provide bold, future-focused leadership across a diverse and influential portfolio including finance, ICT, grants and revenue, strategic performance, customer experience and community development.  This role shapes the City’s long‑term performance and ensures the organisation is financially sustainable, technologically progressive, culturally vibrant, and operationally agile.
   
REQUIREMENTS
  
To ensure success in this critical role, the new Director, City Performance and Community Development will be a well-regarded Local Government professional with expertise in corporate services and an understanding of community development, engagement and cultural programs. The ideal candidate will have sound analytical skills and the ability to foster and cultivate a high-performing team with a people‑centred approach.
  
IN RETURN
  
A contract of five years is on offer and an attractive base salary of up to $240,000 plus superannuation.
