The Opportunity

WATC are seeking a Client Advisor to join their Corporate Treasury Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, cost-effective financial products and services to WATC’s clients, as well as supporting the management and maintenance of business unit systems and processes. You will work closely with clients and undertake research and analysis to develop effective strategies and manage risks in line with individual client’s business needs.

Key activities include:
  • Managing the delivery of products and services to clients in accordance with client instructions and WATC’s governance framework.
  • Assisting in the maintenance, development and review of financial models used by the Corporate Treasury Services business unit.
  • Assisting building and maintaining relationships with clients, and supporting the promotion and enhancement of WATC’s reputation as a valued partner.
  • Contributing to the improvement of financial knowledge across the Western Australian government sector by delivering presentations on WATC’s products and services, and financial risk management strategies to clients and WATC employees.
  • Identifying and progressing opportunities to improve WATC’s product and service delivery through process improvements, product development and marketing initiatives.
About You

WATC’s ideal applicant is a team player with approximately two years’ experience working in the financial sector, and the motivation to develop collaborative working relationships with clients to support the delivery of excellent client service.

If you have an understanding of financial products, are seeking a role where you can apply your research, analytical and problem-solving skills, and can demonstrate your capabilities against the following key criteria, we would love to hear from you:
  • Sound knowledge of the finance industry and financial instruments.
  • Sound knowledge of financial risk management practices and concepts.
  • Sound financial modelling skillsusing Microsoft Excel.
  • Sound research and financial analysis skills, particularly in relation to financial risk management (for example, interest rate risk management and foreign exchange risk management).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey an understanding of financial concepts.
  • Ability to contribute to positive, inclusive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a flexible work environment.
  • Relevant qualification in financial services or equivalent relevant experience.
