This ASX-listed gold development company is advancing a large-scale Western Australian project through study and into delivery readiness. Backed by strong institutional support and an experienced leadership team, the organisation is focused on building a long-life, scalable operation with a disciplined approach to project execution, governance and capital management.
The Opportunity
As the project transitions toward construction, a key appointment is being made for a Civil Superintendent to take ownership of all civil works across site. This is a site-based role with a 2/1 roster. Reporting to the Construction Manager, this role will play a critical part in planning and delivering bulk earthworks and associated infrastructure packages, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality execution.
This is a hands-on leadership role working across multiple contractors and work fronts, with direct influence over programme, cost and delivery outcomes on a significant gold development project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of civil works including bulk earthworks, haul roads, drainage and site infrastructure
- Manage multiple contractors, ensuring performance across safety, schedule, cost and quality
- Monitor construction progress, identifying risks, delays and optimisation opportunities
- Review contractor methodologies, resourcing and construction plans
- Assess and validate contractor claims, variations and progress payments
- Coordinate civil works with broader project interfaces including mining pre-strip, process plant and NPI infrastructure
- Support integrated scheduling and short-term planning in collaboration with Project Controls
- Drive strong HSE and quality outcomes, ensuring compliance with statutory and project requirements
- Provide clear reporting on progress, performance and key risks to project leadership
You are an experienced Civil Superintendent or Senior Civil Supervisor with a track record delivering civil packages on major mining or infrastructure projects. You bring strong contractor management capability and are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving project environment.
You will demonstrate:
- Proven experience across bulk earthworks and civil infrastructure delivery
- Strong understanding of contractor management, including claims and variations
- Experience within EPCM or owner’s team project environments
- Sound commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, schedule and quality outcomes
- A proactive, hands-on approach with strong site presence and leadership capability
- Effective communication skills and the ability to influence across multidisciplinary teams
This is an opportunity to join a well-funded developer at a pivotal stage of its growth, moving from study into execution on a significant WA gold project. You will play a central role in shaping early construction outcomes, working within a high-calibre team and contributing to the successful delivery of a major new mining operation.
