The Opportunity
In this newly created role, the Business Services Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial performance and operational effectiveness of a rapidly growing environmental consultancy. Working closely with the leadership team and project managers, you will provide oversight across budgeting, forecasting, project financials, profitability analysis, reporting, and broader commercial activities, helping to strengthen financial visibility and drive sustainable business growth.
This is a broad and influential position that extends beyond finance, offering the opportunity to shape business operations, improve systems and processes, and contribute to strategic planning and organisational development. Depending on your background and interests, the role may also encompass areas such as project management, human resources, business development, compliance, contracts, or operational support, providing real scope to make a lasting impact on the future success of the business.

To excel in this role, you will possess the following key skills, experience and attributes:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Commerce, Management or a related discipline, with Australian work rights required.
- Proven experience in business services, operations, commercial management or leadership roles within a professional services or project-based environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to oversee financial management, reporting, budgeting and business performance.
- Highly organised with the ability to drive operational improvements, enhance systems and implement effective business processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside highly skilled technical professionals.
- A collaborative, emotionally intelligent and pragmatic leadership style, with the ability to bring structure, clarity and accountability to a growing business.
