With a European head office, Steinert has been a significant player in the magnet manufacturing and sorting solutions business for around 120 years. It has established growing export markets and is a market leader in the supply of well-engineered technology used in the mining, resources, waste and recycling industries. Continued growth and momentum in the Mining sector has led to the requirement of a Business Development Manager in WA.

The Opportunity

Based in Perth, there is an immediate opportunity for an experienced sales/business development professional to join a busy and experienced team. Reporting to the Managing Director, this hands-on role will see you working on sales, business development and account management across a range of clients and prospects in the mining sector. You will help develop the commercial aspects of new and existing products and services by identifying and exploiting business opportunities and developing strategies for sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities 
  • Develop and drive strategies for sustained sales growth.
  • Generate leads through customer interaction.
  • Prepare customer proposals, tender submissions, RFQ responses and pricing letters as required.
  • Provide customers with technical sales support.
  • Liaise with design team on the development of new designs for the Australasian, American and European markets.
  • Maintain Sales Force customer lists and opportunities.
  • Capture market intelligence and competitor information.
  • Manage the sales and marketing activity within the territory.
About You

The ideal candidate is a tertiary qualified Engineer with experience in Mineral Processing in the manufacturing process industry. You will demonstrate a solution-oriented approach to projects whilst being committed to facilitating client needs. Knowledge and experience working within a dynamic and highly customer centric environment will be an advantage.

Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Metallurgical or a related field with preferably with a minimum of 5 years business development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high profile key accounts/customers.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and negotiation skills.
  • Commercial acumen and experience to offer astute insights and customer advice.
  • New business development expertise with the ability to create opportunities through various channels.
  • Display a solid market knowledge and research skills.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record or successful major account management at all levels, from senior management through to plant operators/supervisors.
