The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a hands-on and varied role that will see you managing day-to-day financial operations and supporting broader finance functions. You will be an integral part of a close-knit team, contributing to the financial integrity and efficiency of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records through timely data entry and transaction processing
- Manage the accounts inbox, ensuring timely distribution and follow-up of incoming communications
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice and payment management
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare payment runs, ABA files, and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support tax and compliance reporting such as BAS, payroll tax, FBT, R&D, and income tax
- Maintain financial records both electronically and physically in line with audit requirements
- Liaise with staff to ensure timely collection of receipts and documentation
- Assist with onboarding new suppliers and managing related processes
- Utilise the ERP system (Classic) and Microsoft Office Suite for daily tasks and reporting
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounting role
- Tertiary qualifications in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field
- Strong understanding of double-entry accounting and general accounting principles
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail with strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
- Highly organised and reliable with a proactive attitude
- Analytical and comfortable working with numbers
- Clear and professional communicator
- Team-oriented, but capable of working independently
- Solutions-focused with a continuous improvement mindset
