CGH Group is a national leader in recruitment and human resource services. Our national reach continues to expand, with over 20 branches throughout capital cities, metropolitan and regional areas.

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Agricultural Consultant to join and be based in Emerald, Central Queensland.

In this role, you will support the extension of cotton industry research and best practice within the Central Queensland cotton-growing region.

You will become a trusted and respected local contact, providing direct support to growers and consultants, coordinating regional workshops, field days, and demonstrations, and acting as a valuable feedback link between growers, consultants, and ongoing research activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver agricultural extension activities
  • Support growers and consultants to adopt best practice
  • Provide local support and coordination of events and demonstrations
  • Build strong relationships with growers, consultants, and industry stakeholders
  • Translate research outcomes into practical, on-farm impact
About You

To be successful in this important industry role, you will have:
  • A degree in agriculture, agronomy, or a related field
  • Ideally 2-5 years’ experience in agricultural extension, with a strong technical background, preferably within cotton
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Experience in data collection and analysis
  • A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the region
Why This Role

This hands-on role is ideal for someone who is local to the community and region; has cotton industry and/or extension experience; and enjoys building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. A background in natural resource management (NRM) is welcomed.

This role is not sales focused; it is focused on connecting growers and consultants with the latest research and best practice. It is an industry-focused role that contributes to improved knowledge, capability, and outcomes across the cotton sector.
